Foundation consolidation by resin injections and subsequent installation of MP60 pressure micropiles

Structure: A building for residential use located on Via Vecchia Trevigiana in Conegliano Veneto (TV), consisting of three above-ground floors with 40-cm-thick brick and stone masonry and late concrete floors.
Foundations: continuous concrete foundation 80 cm deep from ground level and overflowing about 20 cm.
Disturbance: the structure has cracks of several mm on the load-bearing masonry only in the part facing south, as well as a lowering of the interior floor of the basement by about 1-2 cm creating cracks on the masonry and partitions.
Soil: predominantly silty-clay soils; preliminary investigations by Novatek found soils with good geomechanical characteristics at depths greater than 20 meters from w.p.

Il Progetto

Intervention: consolidation of 26 linear meters of foundation and 02 external pillars by performing free-spreading KERASTABLE® type HDR® (High Density Resins) expanding polymer injections and subsequent installation of LIFT PILE® – MP60 micropiles (CE marked product according to the European standard EN1090-1:2009) with adjustable preloading device.
Quantity of resin used: about 1,160 kilograms of injected product
Lifting obtained from the performed intervention: 1-2 millimeters
Average depth reached by the micropiles with respect to the paving surface: 25 meters
Average driving pressure: 220bar corresponding to 22 tons
Duration of consolidation intervention: 5 days
