Seabed consolidation with expanding resin injections and subsequent infusion of Lift Pile®

Structure: Office complex located in Vercelli (VC), c.so Palestro consisting of two above-ground floors, reinforced concrete structures and brick and concrete block masonry, concrete slabs and flat roof.
Foundations: reinforced concrete inverted beam and new reinforced concrete corner slab as designed.
Subsoil: oblique cracks on masonry caused by bedrock failure.
Soil: soils mainly consisting of sand and gravel.

Il Progetto

Intervention: consolidation of 12 square meters of newly constructed slab by performing injections of Kerastable® type HDR high-density expanding resins and subsequent installation of No. 14 Lift Pile®, MP60 pressure micropiles with adjustable preloading device.
Quantity of resin used: about 600 kilograms
Lifting obtained from the performed intervention: 1-2 millimeters
Average depth reached by the micropiles with respect to the foundation laying surface: 11 meters
Average driving pressure: 200bar corresponding to 20 tons
Preloading pressure: 450bar
Duration of the consolidation intervention: 2.5 days site
Number of site operators: 3
