Civil dwelling building – Valderice (TP)

Foundation consolidation with pressure micropiles MP60 Novatek Ltd. SB

Structure: private building for residential use located in Valderice (TP), consisting of one above-ground floor, with load-bearing masonry in tuff blocks and floors in latero-concrete. Foundations: foundations consisting of reinforced concrete curb having a height of 1.0 meter incorporated on slab with double 25 x 25 mesh with 12 mm diameter iron.
Disturbance: widespread cracking condition over much of the perimeter of the structure due to sagging of the building at the two sides located to the north and south.
Soil: topsoil for a thickness ranging from 0.80 to 2.30 meters on medium to high moist silty clay.
Request for action: consolidation of foundations by laying pressure micropiles.

Il Progetto

Intervention: consolidation by driving in 33 MP60 steel micropiles (CE-marked product according to European standard EN1090-1:2009).
Depth reached by the micropiles with respect to the foundation laying surface: from 7 to 9 meters.
Driving pressure: from 200bar to 240bar corresponding to 20 to 24 tons for each driven in micropile.
Duration of consolidation intervention: 5 days.
Number of operators employed for the work: 3 specialized operators.
