Civil dwelling in Crotone (KR)

Consolidation and lifting of 2cm
Structure: Building for civilian housing located in Crotone, Makalla Street, consisting of two above-ground floors and a basement level, with load-bearing structure consisting of a spatial grid of reinforced concrete beams and pillars, pitched roof.
Foundations: lattice of reinforced concrete inverted beams set about 100 cm above ground level. The structural part is 40×60 cm.
Disturbance: marked subsidence of the south front, facing a newly constructed building that was built as a result of overburdening the land limiting the property on the aforementioned side. Similar subsidence, less marked, is, however, present on the opposite north front. In addition, on the south side there is more subsidence in the interior part of the rooms. Both subsidence shows 45° and sub horizontal cracks in the masonry. The cracking framework is particularly evident at the door and window compartments of these walls, where the smaller resistant section of the masonry has allowed the opening of inclined cracks marking the opposite corners of the compartments themselves as well as deforming the squaring of the window frames.
Soil: foundation laying surface to the depth of geotechnical interest consisting mainly of clays.
Il Progetto

Intervention: consolidation of 57 linear meters of foundation with the installation of 39 LIFT PILE® (pressure micropiles with adjustable preloading device) and subsequent injection of expanding resin to fill the void rceived from the lifting.
Quantity of resin used: about 530 kilograms of injected product
Lifting obtained from the intervention performed: from a minimum of 0.5 to a maximum of 2 centimeters
Average depth reached by the micropiles with respect to the paving surface: 13 meters
Average driving pressure: 220bar corresponding to 22 tons
Preloading pressure: 700Nm
Duration of the consolidation intervention: 11 days
Number of site operators: 3
