Consolidation and lifting of industrial pavement with resins and micropiles

Structure: Private building for industrial use located in Gratacasolo di Pisogne (BS), Via Provinciale with concrete flooring with electrowelded mesh showing subsidence especially at the heating plant, infirmary and locker rooms.
Foundations: industrial flooring having thickness of 15 and 25 cm
Disturbance: the industrial flooring has several subsidence, at the heating plant by 4 cm, the infirmary by 2 centimeters and the locker rooms by 7-8 centimeters.
Soil: organic materials for the first surface layer, around the depth of 2.10 mt. soil of sandy-loamy nature, in the end at the upper depth of 3.60 mt. the deposit is mainly clay with silt or with sand of low bearing capacity.

Il Progetto

Intervention A – pavement consolidation by laying 17 LIFT PILE® – MP60 micropiles (CE marked product according to European standard EN1090-1:2009) with adjustable preloading device.
Intervention B – consolidation and lifting of the pavement by laying 06 LIFT PILE® – MP60 micropiles (CE marked product according to the European standard EN1090-1:2009) with adjustable preloading device for lifting from 3 to a maximum of 5 cm and subsequent filling of the void created by injecting KERATABLE® type HDR® (High Density Resins) expanding polymers
Intervention C – consolidation of the pavement by laying 03 LIFT PILE® – MP60 micropiles (CE marked product according to the European standard EN1090-1:2009) with adjustable preloading device.
Quantity of resin used: about 570 kilograms of injected product
Lift obtained from the performed intervention: 4-5 centimeters
Average depth reached by the micropiles in relation to the paving surface: 18 meters
Average driving pressure: 150bar corresponding to 15 tons
Duration of consolidation intervention: 7.5 days
