Structure: Private building for residential use, isolated, built in 1980. The building, located in the plain, is located in Imola (BO) and consists of two above-ground floors and an attic with vertical structure in solid brick masonry, internal partitions in perforated brick blocks, floors and roofing in late concrete.
Foundations: as a result of the foundation assays carried out, concrete foundations located at depths of about 0.80 to 0.90 meters from the footing were found to be protruding from the vertical of the wall in elevation.
Disturbance: visual analysis of the building shows, in every zone except the already consolidated east corner, a network of lesions with sub-vertical, sub-horizontal and inclined paths, at multiple branch places (south corner). The crack pattern, with tensile failures, was produced by shear and bending stresses, corresponding to anticlinal deformations with hinge axis in the median zone and east-west direction. This observation classifies the failure as terminal differential vertical translation for a total height. The failure began in the year 2007 and has progressively worsened.
Soil: as a result of the dynamic penetrometric tests performed, soils with poor geomechanical characteristics are found up to depths of about 10-11 meters from b.c., followed by resistant soils found at depths of about 12-14 meters from b.c.
