Private building for residential use in Lajatico (PI)

Foundation consolidation with expanding resins and MP60 micropiles
Structure: Private building for residential use located on Via Papa Giovanni XXIII in Lajatico, consisting of two above-ground floors with poroton masonry and cement-late concrete floors.
Foundations: reinforced concrete slab about 30 cm thick.
Disturbance: at one corner, the building has some lesions in the masonry with oblique and horizontal trends due to the failure of the related foundation. Other lesions with similar trend were found at the opposite corner upstream.
Soil: as a result of geological investigations carried out, predominantly clayey soils were found.
Il Progetto

Intervention: consolidation by performing injections of free-spreading KERASTABLE® expanding polymers and subsequent installation of 36 LIFT PILE® (pressure micropiles with adjustable preloading device)
Quantity of resin used: approximately 290 kilograms of injected product
Lift obtained from the intervention performed: from a minimum of 1 up to a maximum of 5 millimeters
Average depth reached by the micropiles in relation to the paving surface: 9 meters
Average driving pressure: 230bar corresponding to 23 tons
Duration of consolidation intervention: 4.5 days
Number of site operators: 3
