Private building for residential use in Massarossa (LU)

Structure: A private building for residential use located on Via delle Ginestre in Massarosa, consisting of two above-ground floors and a basement floor with poroton masonry and cement-late concrete floors.
Foundations: slab about 30 cm thick slightly overhanging the outside of the perimeter walls.
Disturbance: at the junction point of the two buildings, there are some “book-like” cracks in the masonry due to foundation failure.
Soil: penetrometric investigations identified a thickness ranging from 3.8 m in the DIN2 test (conducted downstream) to 7.6 m in DIN 3 (conducted upstream) of clay component soil below which the tests went to instrumental rejection.
