Private building for residential use in Modena

Consolidation and uplift with MP60 micropiles

Structure: A private building for residential use located in Modena, Via Grazisi consisting of four above-ground floors with brick masonry and late concrete floors.
Foundations: inverted r.c. beam placed about 1.0 m from the floor level with overhanging wings for about 40 cm.
Disturbance: localized subsidence on the one-story above-ground garage annex built later than the main building body. Slides were placed at the remaining part of the structure in order to monitor the subsidence of the structure.
Soil: cohesive in nature. As a result of the infill test performed and the intervention, soils with good geomechanical characteristics were found at depths varying from 15 to 22 meters from p.c.

Il Progetto

Intervention: consolidation and uplift of the structure (uplift on part of the structure 1-2 millimeters and on other portion 1-2 centimeters) mediate laying of 100 LIFT PILE® (pressure micropiles with preloading device) and subsequent execution of Kerastable® expanding polymer void-filling injections
Quantity of resin used: about 230 kilograms of injected product
Relief obtained from the performed intervention: from a minimum of 1-2 millimeters to a maximum of 2 centimeters in the most subsided part
Average depth reached by micropiles relative to the paving surface: 18 meters
Average infusion pressure: 220bar corresponding to 22 tons
Duration of consolidation intervention: 14 days
