Foundation consolidation with LIFT PILE® (pressure micropiles with preloading device)
Structure: residential condominium located in Valenza (AL), consisting of six above-ground floors with basement in an area not subject to subsidence/intervention.
Foundations: reinforced concrete plinths having dimensions of 1.5 meters x 1.5 meters placed at depths varying from a minimum of 2.10 meters to a maximum of 2.50 meters from p.c.
Disturbance: vertical subsidence at the plinth foundations.
Soil: presence of clay soils subject to volumetric changes with seasonal trends up to depths of about 14 and 16 meters from p. c.
The Project

Intervention: consolidation of 03 foundation plinths by performing injections of free-spreading KERASTABLE® expanding polymers and subsequent installation of 30 Lift Pile® (pressure micropiles with preloading device)
Average elevation achieved with expanding polymers: 2mm
Consumption of blowing polymers: 380Kg
Depth of Lift Pile® micropile drive: 16 to 19 meters from ground level
Pressure of Lift Pile® micropile drive: 220bar corresponding to 22 tons
